The recently opened The Schaller Studio in Bendigo is the latest offering from the always stylish, always savvy Art Series Hotel Group. And it doesn’t fail to live up to the brand’s art inspired twist. The Schaller Studio is a more affordable, compact version of an Art Series Hotel, perfectly suited to its more regional Australian location (the first of its kind for the group). But there’s nothing budget about it – The Schaller Studio is very cool and good looking!
The 128 room, The Schaller Studio draws from the art and cultural overtones of Bendigo City, while being inspired by namesake artist, Mark Schaller and his renowned expressionist work. There are 240 pieces of original works on display across a variety of disciplines including oil on canvas, wood and bronze sculpture and mosaic while, beyond the hotel, The Schaller Studio is proud to be official hotel partner to the wildly successful Bendigo Art Gallery.
A modern-day take on a country guest house, the entry and ground floor includes reception, The Pantry (a café come lounge bar inspired by the artist’s own home and studio in Abbotsford) and a series of homely spaces to meet friends, work or get the creative juices flowing whilst utilising the sketch pads and utensils in the library space brimming with Australian art books. And every room features an original artwork by the artist (for sale at $4000 a pop), should it take your fancy.
