As Head Designer and Creative Director for the fashion house CHANEL, Karl Lagerfeld has made his mark as one of the most brilliant and prolific designers in modern couture history, but he is also an incredible photographer! Chanel has put his dual skills to use and brought in the style savvy famed former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld to collaborate on a stunning new collection of images for the picture-based book titled ”The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL’s classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld”.
CHANEL‘s iconic little black jacket is worn by over 100 actors, models, singers, celebrities and contemporary identities in a beautiful, evocative collection of black and white portraits.
The images are now being shown in a travelling exhibition, debuted in Tokyo with stop overs in New York, London, Taipei and Moscow and now finally reaching our shore with a showing in Sydney. This is an event not to be missed for fashionistas, culture clubbers and art lovers alike!
‘The Little Black Jacket / CHANEL’s classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld’ Photographic Exhibition is open to the public until November 11th 2012, daily from 11am to 7pm // Free Admission.
