After spending a sunny Friday afternoon zipping around town on the back of a super cool vespa (driven by a handsome Italian, no less!) we discovered a new passion for a classic drinks experience – the Aperitivo Hour.
This Italian tradition is usually observed daily in a small but perfectly formed bar between 5 pm and 7 pm to awaken the taste buds and enliven the body in preparation for the evening’s meal. Spirits like Campari, Aperol and Cinzano are used as the base for either a straight up drink or a fresh cocktail creation. And with Summer well and truly on it’s way, we’re owning this as our new way to drink and socialise.
During Summer 2012, all you need to do is dial 1800 Cin Cin to summon your dapper Italian Vespa driver to deliver you and your favourite friends to one of five of the city’s coolest bars (Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne).
Graze on a range delectable snacks designed to get your stimulate your appetite for more as your knowledgeable host guides you through this most sophisticated of evening rituals. That’s our host, mixologist Ryan (pictured) making some delizioso concoctions. So good!
You can then enjoy Aperitivo hour in true Italian style, with an Aperol Spritz (Aperol, ice, Prosecco, soda water), Campari Highball (the classic Italian aperitivo – Campari with freshly squeezed orange juice), or Cin Cin (Cinzano Bianco with dry and fresh lemon … our favourite!) in hand while you decide on how best to spend your perfect evening.
