“Many moons ago, a beautiful goddess sipped on the forbidden elixir of life, banishing her from earth to the moon. Trapped for eternity among the stars, she would forever await the man she loved, in the company of a lone Jade Rabbit …”
The Moon Festival of Chinese folklore was the poetic starting point for legendary Dutch designer Marcel Wanders to create the new 91-room hotel concept Mira Moon as lead Creative Director of Wanders & yoo, a collaboration with international property design firm, yoo.
With his unabashed theatricality, Wanders master touch is evident in every inch and space of this stylish hotel, which is located in Hong Kong’s bustling hub, Wanchai. Playful furnishings seamlessly intertwine with Chinese artefacts and traditionally crafted ceramics, carved timbers and cut crystal. It’s romantic and luxe – from the symbol of the Peony that is repeated throughout in the ornately carved timber panelling, to the lacquered whites and rich China reds, with the bright lights of Hong Kong a perfect backdrop. Stunning + sexy style.
