With an evocative name that translates as ‘head amongst the stars‘ in English, the new penthouse apartment at Paris’ Hotel du Ministère is suitably expansive and awe-inspiring. And downright gorgeous, we have to say!
La Tête dans les Etoiles, by interior designer François Champsaur, offers a new experience to design lovers and stylish travellers yearning for a piece of the Parisian dream. Located a stone’s throw away from Paris’ cultural centre and luxury retail hotspots, the apartment features a wall of steel-framed glass offering up a vista like no other – views over the rooftops of the city and far beyond.
Stepping away from the hotel’s Mondrian-inspired interior downstairs, designer François Champsaur has gone with a more raw style in the penthouse, which is reminiscent of a lofty, industrial space. Subdued yet utterly chic blacks, blues and greys anchor his signature raw oak floor boards and walnut wood furnishings. It’s in the bedrooms that the bold splashes of colour add oomph and interest – cushions and accessories from modern design icons like Hay keep the look immediately striking.
The 100 sq. metre apartment is made up of two en suite bedrooms, a spectacular living room with a fireplace (and those to-die-for views!), laundry room and a state of the art kitchen and a dining area that seats six. It’s a space designed to be a home away from home for the lucky guests who stay here – little wonder then to find out that the hotel owner originally designed the penthouse for himself.
