Australian kaftan queen Camilla Franks has turned her colourful eye to designing a new range of rugs for Designer Rugs, and there’s little wonder that the range is a story of bright hues and exotic prints, richly evocative and utterly sublime.
Far from just a fashion designer, Camilla has her own experience in homewares having developed and designer her own lifestyle pieces including cushions and candles alongside her Gypset collection (which, by the way, is all quite stunning too!). So partnering up with Designer Rugs to add to their ever swoon worthy Designers Collections, which features designs by some of Australia’s most high profile fashion designers and artists (hello, Akira Isogawa, Easton Pearson, Alex Perry and Catherine Martin) was a match made in designer heaven.
The six elaborate designs all boast a colourful palette, with a tapestry-like collection of patterns that draw from her experiences in exotic destinations like Marrakech, Japan and Formentera, with a heavy influence also coming from Camilla’s 2012 Gypset collection.
Available exclusively from Designer Rugs, each Camilla rug is hand-made to a standard size of 200x300cm, but can also be custom ordered to suit any interior space.
You can see Camilla’s Winter 2013 collection in her ‘Tales from a Reading Room’ lookbook right here.
