Alfred & Constance offers up a collection of small dining and drinks venues in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, housed within two heritage Queenslanders … and with local ‘it’ designer Alexander Lotersztain from Derlot behind the fit out, it does double duty as a hot spot of cool.
It’s a little bit quirky, with a kind of vintage-meets-mod edge to the decor that we really love. So fun and relaxed, with a variety of ‘scenes’ that go from 70s vibe to grungy to tropicana. You kind of feel like you could be kicking back in your grandma’s old lounge room or dossing at a share house circa the 90s (more than likely wearing retro paisley prints, cherry docs and pink hair … or was that just me?!). It’s all so very Brisbane style.
And with your choice of good times, be it booze and beer with sharable feasts in The Vanguard, tropical cocktails at White Lightning Tiki Bar, late-night dessert and alcoholic juices or some sampling of the meat heavy menu (vegetarian beware!), it’s got every mood and budget sorted. Little wonder it’s become the Fortitude Valley‘s new go-to for great dining and drinks.
